PURPOSE:To improve resistance to blocking by providing a first undercoat layer comprising a polymeric material and hydrophilic second undercoat layer comprising water-sluble polyvinyl alcohol successively between a hydrophobic supporting body and a photographic emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:A first undercoat layer comprising a polymeric material is provided on a hydrophobic supporting body such as polyethylene terephthalate film, etc. Specific examples for the polymeric material are copolymers of vinyl monomer selected from styrene, acrylonitrile, acrylic ester, etc. with dienic monomer such as butadiene, isoprene, etc. Thereafter, a hydrophilic second undercoat layer contg. water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol having <=97mol% degree of saponification and contg. also hydrophilic polymer (e.g. gelatine) preferably, as binder on the first undercoat layer. By providing then a photographic emulsion layer thereon, an aimed photographic material is obtd. |
