PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for mechanical control and to perform accurate, high-speed switching by controlling a deflecting electric field and switching optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 5a and 5b in a vacuum container and a fluorescent screen 7 are applied with voltages from an acceleration voltage generating circuit 11 and photoelectrons emitted by a photoelectric surface 3 are converged while accelerated toward the fluorescent screen 6. A couple of deflecting electrodes 4 are arranged in the tube and applied with a scanning voltage from a scanning voltage generator 9. When a voltage V1 is connected to the deflecting electrode 4 by the voltage generator 9, a photoelectron is scanned as shown by a broken line and a light signal is connected to an output optical fiber 8a. Similarly, when a voltage V2 is applied to the deflecting electrode 4, the light signal from a fiber 1 is connected to an output optical fiber 8b. |
