SETTING SYSTEM OF COMMUNICATION SPEED

PURPOSE:To set a communication speed in a short time without increasing the number of communication devices by permitting a start-stop system data communication device to discriminate the communication speed on the basis of predetermined data from a connected terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:A terminal equipment T which desires to have a communication with an information processor HC calls an exchange EX, and transmits special data predetermined for communication speed discrimination when connected to an optional communication device CU. The device CU transmits this special data to a communication speed table TBL. The speed table TBL consists of a storage device stored with communication speeds (s) corresponding to discrimination results which are transmitted as addresses from a start-stop system transmitting and receiving circuit UART, and a communication speed (s) corresponding to the transmitted discrimination result is outputted and transmitted to the circuit UART. The circuit UART starts communicating with the connected terminal device T at the communication speed (s) transmitted from the speed table TBL.
