摘要 PURPOSE:To utilize effectively incident light, and to enhance conversion efficiency of a thin film solar cell module by a method wherein the series connected unit cells of solar cells consisting of semiconductors of two kinds having different band gaps are formed on separate substrates, and made to face mutually to form the module. CONSTITUTION:Junctions 31-36 of semiconductors having broad band gaps are P-I-N junctions of amorphous silicon, for example, and junctions 61-66 of semiconductors having narrow band gaps are P-I-N junctions of amorphous silicon germanium, for example. Outputs of the respective solar cells formed by connecting the unit cells of six pieces in series are led out from both the edges. Substrates 11, 12 of two sheets are arranged as to make the solar cells to face mutually, connected by frames 13, and enclosed according to transparent resin 14 such as silicon, etc. When light 15 enters through a glass plate 11, light not absorbed by the photoelectric conversion regions 31-36 reaches the photoelectric conversion regions 61-66, and photocurrents are generated in both the regions.
