PURPOSE:To obtain a lead-acid battery having good rechargeability when the battery is allowed to stand after discharge by inserting a plate group prepared by stacking with liquid absorbent separators into a container and pouring dilute sulfuric acid prepared by dispersing a specified amount of bentonite in it. CONSTITUTION:Cathode plates and anode plates are stacked with liquid absorbent separators such as glass fine fibers interposed to form a plate group. This plate group is accomodated in a container and dilute sulfuric acid in which 0.1-15wt% bentonite is dispersed is poured into the container. Bentonite is also effectively added as sodium salt or potassium salt mainly comprising montmorillonite. By this process, a sealed type lead-acid battery having good rechargeability when the battery is allowed to stand after discharge is obtained. |
