PURPOSE:To improve the manufacturing efficiency and the qualiy of a plate group for a lead storage battery by manufacturing it by making joints between a strap and the lugs of plates through pouring of a molten lead alloy member, followed by remelting the strap section by heating it with a burner or the like. CONSTITUTION:After the lugs 6 of plural plates are inserted into the comb-like section of a zig (A) consisting of an contacting metal 1a and a comb 4, a molten lead alloy 12 is poured through a metallic pouring gate 14 into a metallic mold 13 placed on the zig (A) so as to form a lead alloy member 15 consisting of a strap section 15a from which the top ends of the lugs 6 protrude and an intercellular connecting section 15b. After that, the strap section 15a is remolten by heating it from its above by means of a gas burner 8, thereby making a plate group in which the lugs 6 are connected to the strap section 15a. By the means mentioned above, a stabilized quality can be easily realized without any necessity of the accurate control of the poured molten lead alloy. In addition, automation of the manufacturing process can be easily realized. |
