<p>NEW MATERIAL:A glutamine derivative shown by the formula I[X is an alkylene shown by the formula II (n is 1-4) or vinylene; Z is H or lower alkyl] and its nontoxic salt. EXAMPLE:N-(4-Ethoxycarbonylmethylphenyl)-L-glutamine. USE:An immune regulating agent useful for remedying and preventing various kinds of disease caused by an immune reaction. Useful as a remedy for autoimmune diseases, e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, etc., and bacterium infectious diseases. Having low toxicity. PROCESS:Glutamic acid anhydride with its amino group protected is reacted with an aniline derivative shown by the formula III (Y is lower alkyl) in the presence of an activator, and the amino-protecting group is removed from the reaction product, to give a compound shown by the formula I.</p> |
