PURPOSE:To reduce noise and oscillation during operation by applying the 1st driving force smaller than the load on a driving system normally, and the 2nd driving force larger than the load during acceleration and deceleration. CONSTITUTION:An output pulse TP of a sensor 10 is compared by a speed comparing circuit 102 with a target speed clock CF to check the moving speed of a carriage. A control part 103 consists of a microcomputer, etc., and an output pulse TR of a sensor 11 is inputted and utilized as the standard of position control. An NON speed control signal (driving signal irrelevant to speed control) Q1 is inputted to a motor driving circuit through an OR gate 107 and a switching transistor TR1, and the driving force smaller than the load resistance force of the driving system is applied than the load resistance force of the driving system is applied with an idling clock Q5 from an oscillator 106. The signal Q1 is impressed for a specific time during driving to increase the moving speed, and a motor 4 is brought under speed control based upon a signal Q8 from the speed comparing circuit 102.
