<p>NEW MATERIAL:The polypeptide of formula I [R is group of formula II; the amino acid is abbreviated by conventional method as the first three letters of the English name (exceptions; Asn=asparagine, Gln=glutamine); all amino acids are L-isomers] and having biotinyl group bonded to the N-terminal. USE:A growth hormone secretion accelerating agent effective to the growth hormone deficient diseases such as microplasia, etc., expected to be effective as an antiulcer agent, and useful also as a remedy and diagnostic. PREPARATION:The polypeptide of formula III (X and Y are protecting group of the amino group, carboxyl group or guanide group of amino acid) is condensed with biotin, and the protecting groups are eliminated to obtain the polypeptide of formula I . The compound is extremely useful for the immunological and histological analysis by biotin-avidine system taking advantage of the characteristic structural feature, i.e. the presence of biotinyl group at the N-terminal.</p> |
