The invention is based on a handle for operating electrical switches, in which the handle is mounted without screws in the apparatus insert of a switch. In this case, the handle consists, for example, of a rotating toggle with an integrally-formed hollow peg which latches by means of an integrally-formed annular bead behind an annular projection in the opening of the apparatus insert. Furthermore, for operation, the hollow peg also has two diametrically opposite recesses by means of which it engages over corresponding projections in the opening of the apparatus insert. A conical construction of the hollow peg and two further slots, which can be pressed together, in the hollow peg simplify the insertion of the handle into the opening in the apparatus insert.
