Silane-modified moulding compositions based on polyvinylidene fluoride, crosslinked mouldings produced therefrom, and process for the production thereof

These silane-modified moulding compositions based on polyvinylidene fluoride can be used to produce crosslinked mouldings which meet high demands, in particular in respect of thermal stability, and can be produced without difficulties even in relatively large wall thicknesses. They are obtained by grafting an alkenylalkoxysilane compound onto the polyvinylidene fluoride in the presence of a peroxidic organic free-radical former, adding a silanol condensation catalyst and conventional fillers, processing agents, colourants, stabilisers and the like, mixing the components, converting the mixture into the plastic state, shaping the melt, cooling the material and crosslinking the moulding in the presence of steam, atmospheric moisture or water present in small amounts in the moulding.
