The invention relates to infrared technology and infrared spectroscopy. The process for producing a Christiansen filter for the infrared spectral range consists according to the invention in first compression-moulding plates having a thickness of 0.3 to 0.4 mm from the powder of the base and then applying to each of the plates a layer densely packed to the maximum extent of the filler particles of irregular shape having a thickness of approximately average particle size. A stack of three to six plates with an applied layer is formed and a similar plate which is free of filler particles is placed on the stack. Then the multilayer structure is compression-moulded in a vacuum of 10<-3> mm of mercury under a pressure of 18,000 kp/cm<2>. The Christiansen filters are intended primarily for monochromatic light radiation.
