PURPOSE:To facilitate burnishing of a work at its corner portion as well as its bore portion with a tool pressed to the work at a uniform force, by attaching a disk-type burnishing tool to a holding shaft which receives the force of a spring provided within the tool assembly body via a shaft, case, and tool holder. CONSTITUTION:A disk-type burnishing tool (burnisher) 20 is pressed perpendicularly to the surface of a work to be machined by the force of a spring 11 provided within the tool assembly body 2 exerting on the tool 20 via a shaft 4, bearing case 12, tool holder 16, and holding shaft 19. And, under such conditions, the work is burnished at its cylindrical and end face portions. At this time, since the shaft 4 is supported by a ball slide mechanism 3, the tool holder 16 is enabled to smoothly follow the spring force and therefore a uniform pressing force can be provided. |
