PURPOSE:To make a general-purpose grinding wheel combinable with an electric discharge machining wheel, by applying plural wheel faces to a work in rotation simultaneously with energization of a continuous rating current onto a rotary grinding wheel fitted with a conductive toothlike current-carrying wheel face, while constituting these wheel faces so as to perform both electrolytic grinding and mechanical grinding operations in combination. CONSTITUTION:A work 5 is energized with current via a rotary shaft 3, a shaft hole 1a of a grinding wheel 1 and a peripheral edge part of the grinding wheel 1 whereby the work 5 is cut off as rotating the grinding wheel 1. With this constitution, both general cutting and grinding operations take place with abrasive grain particles on toothlike conductive wheel faces 1b... formed between the grinding wheel 1 and an insulating part 4. Simultaneously toothlike conductive wheel faces 1b<1>-1b<4> to be instantaneously contacted with the work 5 is joined anew with another toothlike conductive wheel face 1b<0> in consecutive order and contacted so that an energized state between the grinding wheel 1 and the work 5 is always varied in consequence, thus electrolytic grinding comes to fruition. With this constitution, a general-purpose grinding wheel is consequently made combinable with an electric discharge wheel as it is. |
