PURPOSE:To provide the titled dental material giving the color of natural tooth when molten, vitrified, cast in the form of a tooth crown, etc. and crystallized, by adding a coloring component comprising the oxide of Fe, Mn, Ce, etc. and optionally a color-developing assistant to a calcium phosphate-based material. CONSTITUTION:The objective dental material is produced by compounding (A) 100pts.wt. of a calcium phosphate-based material having a Ca/P atomic ration of 0.35-1.7 with (B) 0.03-5pts.wt. of two or more compounds selected from the oxides of Fe, Mn, Ce, W, Ti and Ni and optionally (C) <=10pts.wt. of Al2O3, SiO2, etc. as a color-developing assistant. The natural color of tooth can be developed by melting and vitrifying the dental material, casting in the form of a tooth crown or the integrated structure of tooth crown and tooth root, and crystallizing the cast material. The color can be adjusted delicately by selecting the combination and amount of the color-developing components, the amounts of the additives, etc. There is no trouble caused by the dissolution of the colorants. |
