<p>PURPOSE:To increase the rate of removal of suspended matters, etc. and to facilitate maintenance and management of the apparatus by providing a circulation means of raw water to the bottom of a circulation cylinder packed with packing material in some of the space separated by the inside wall of reaction tank, two baffle plates, and external periphery of the circulation cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Raw water W is charged to a specified level, and air a1 is ejected in the direction a2 from an aeration port 3a by an air pump through an air feeding tube with an appropriate feed amt. of air, and raw water W1 in the bottom of a circulation cylinder 2 provided with baffle plates 6 is overflowed from the top of the circulation cylinder by the effect of air lift in the direction a2. Overflowed raw water W3 flows over a collecting barrier 6a through a notch 6a and through the external periphery of the baffle plates and reaches the bottom of the circulation cylinder after changing its direction frequently by the effect of the baffle plates and contacting with the front face of the baffle plates and packing material 5 in each packed layer. The waste water W1 which has reached the bottom of the cylinder repeats the same process as described above. By this process, suspended particles in the water grow to large floc and are collected.</p> |
