<p>The longitudinal and transverse strings of double-sided tennis racket stringing are arranged in different designs in such a way as to allow individual methods of play, such as are customary today, with tennis rackets of this type, thereby greatly reducing the peaks of force occurring during impact in relation to single-sided strung rackets. The problem of the design of a stringing which is gentle on the arm has increased greatly in importance in recent times because today rackets with a very rigid frame are built on the basis of newly developed combinations of synthetic material. Although these rackets considerably improve the playing characteristics, they have the disadvantage that they have to be provided with a hard stringing which causes a great load on the arm. In rackets with such hard stringing, it is achieved according to the invention, by appropriate arrangement of the double-sided stringing in the region around the centre point of the stringing, that the playing characteristics of a single-sided strung racket are maintained, and better damping is effected than in the single-sided strung rackets by an appropriately different type of arrangement of the double-sided stringing in the most hazardous region at the four outer zones of the racket. For players who do not necessarily prefer the stringing surface at the centre of the racket to be as rigid as possible, the stringing takes place only in one arrangement. ...
