The invention relates to an arrangement for determining the position, the geometrical dimensions and/or the kinetic quantities of an object which is capable by virtue of its influence of causing a change in an alternating magnetic field by establishing the change in an alternating magnetic field effected by the object. In this arrangement, differently localised magnetic field sensors are provided within the range of influence of the alternating magnetic field, the output signals of the sensors allowing detection of an influence exerted on the alternating magnetic field by the object to be determined. In addition, an evaluation circuit is provided which evaluates the signals of the magnetic field sensors in such a way that it is possible to determine the position, the geometric dimensions and/or the kinetic quantities of the object to be determined.
