PURPOSE:To lightly carry out a draw-out operation by providing a speed reducing means which reduces the speed of the webbing draw-out rotation of a webbing winding shaft, and which transmits rotating force to a large resilient body which makes said winding shaft rotate in the winding direction in an emergency, in a seat belt device. CONSTITUTION:If a car collides when a rider is wearing a seat belt, a sensor lever 48 is pushed up due to the swing of a pendulum 49, causing a cam 45 to rotate, and a rotary pole 43 is separated from the engaging part of an operating ring 36. Accordingly, the operating ring 36 is rotated in the winding direction by means of a large spiral spring 38 and more than one lever 56 are engaged with respective gear wheels 52 to transmit rotating force to a winding wheel 22 causing a webbing 24 to be closely brought in contact with the rider. When the webbing 24 is removed from wearing and allowed to be wound up, a lever 66, an arm 68, and a lever 64 rotate counterclockwise to make gears 74, 76 of a speed reducing means meshed with gears 60, 70, enabling the spring 38 to be wound up under a speed reduced condition when a webbing 24 draw-out operation is carried out afterward. |
