PURPOSE:To prevent the fretting wear of a connecting rod by planing the joining faces of the body of the rod and the bearing cap, fastening the cap to the body with bolts under suitable torque, and heat-treating them in the fastened state under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A rod body 1 and a bearing cap 2 are formed by forging, and the joining faces 3 are planed. The cap 2 is fastened to the body 1 with bolts 4 under torque to assemble a connecting rod. This rod is heat-treated at 200- 650 deg.C for 0.5-4hr and cooled. The cap 2 is separated from the body 1 by loosening the bolts 4, and the cap 2 is fastened to the body 1 again with the bolts 4 under torque. The resulting connecting rod is attached to a clamp pin. |
