发明名称 WIRE ELECTRODE FOR WIRE CUT ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE MACHINING
摘要 PURPOSE:To carry out machining at a high machining speed with a high degree of accuracy, by forming a high-tensile wire in an amorphous state made from pure metals or alloys, or by forming the same in such a way that a nonferrous metal selected from the group consisting of zinc, aluminum, etc. and alloy thereof is covered onto the above-mentioned wire. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous state thin wire which is obtained by quenching a pure metal or an alloy from its molten state, is used as a wire electrode 1 having a high-tensile strength. Meanwhile, in order to eliminate the problem of such a sticking phenomenon that a part of the wire electrode 1 is scattered due to electrical discharge and stuck to the machined surface 4 of a workpiece 2, zinc, magnexium, tin, lead, aluminum, cadmium or alloy 7 thereof, having a low M.P. and being liable to evaporate, is coated on the outer surface of the amorphous metal wire 6 so that the wire electrode 1 which offers substantially no sticking substance may be obtained. Since the tensile strength of the wire electrode is high and as well the machining speed may be enhanced with substantialy no substance sticking to the machined surface of the workpiece, thereby the machining accuracy may be also enhanced.
