PURPOSE:To enable truing in a uniform thickness on both sides of an angular- type grinding wheel, by obtaining the displacement of the grinding wheel surface after grinding work with reference to the position of the grinding wheel face measured immediately after the previously performed truing, and by adjusting the truing locus according to the above obtained displacement. CONSTITUTION:A contactor 6 is shifted by a drive mechanism 8 until it comes in contact with a face of an angular-type grinding wheel 20 and the amount of the shift is detected by a detecting sensor 10 and stored in the store 14 via a detecting portion 12. From the amount of the shift of the contactor 6 which was obtained at the measurement performed just after the previous truing and the amount of the shift of the contactor 6 obtained just before the truing at this time, the displacement of each of the faces of the grinding wheel 20 with reference to that obtained immediately after the previous truing is provided by a displacement detectng portion 16. Based upon the displacement, a locus for the truing tool 2 to make the truing by grinding a uniform thickness off each of the grinding surfaces immediately before the truing at this time is provided by a control protion 18. The tool 2 is shifted according to the thus obtained locus. |
