Apparatus for producing a fleece from fibre material, with a feed device for the fibre material, with a blower for conveying the fibre material into a collecting space, the width of which is variable in dependence on the width of the fleece, at least some of the conveying air, by being deflected, escaping from the collecting space by way of a spent-air orifice, and a device for conveying the fleece in the working direction behind the collecting space, the collecting space being formed by a build-up channel of small height, the spent-air orifice and the blower being so designed that a predetermined pressure is exerted on the material in the build-up channel, and a draw-off device for the fleece being arranged directly at the end of the build-up channel. <IMAGE>
