PURPOSE:To contrive reduction in power consumption by a method wherein a resistor used in a convensional junction option IC is unneccessitated, and instead of said resistor, the potential of a junction pad is connected to ''0'' and ''1'' unrestrictedly, thereby enabling to set freely. CONSTITUTION:An IC chip 100 is connected to a package substrate 130 having the potential of earth level. Pad groups 110-119 are provided around the chip 100, and lead terminals 120-128 are provided on the side of the surrounding package. When the pad 114 to be used for option and the substrate 130 are connected 131, the potential of the pad 114 is turned to zero volt same as the substrate, and a wiring 132 is connected to a lead 124, or a wiring 132 is connected to a pad 115, and the potential is turned to +5V. According to this constitution, a pullup or pulldown resistor located between an optional pad P' and a power source can be abbreviated, power consumption can be reduced, and signals A' or B' can be obtained for output C' using the pad P' potential of 0 or +5V by selecting the point where the pad 114 will be connected, thereby enabling to properly control the internal circuit of the IC. |
