PURPOSE:To protect eyes of an operator from light of a lamp when copying is performed with an open cover, by lighting the exposure lamp divisionally in accordance with an original size region and detecting the terminal part of the original to extinguish the lamp. CONSTITUTION:When an original 7 is arranged on a platen 6 and copying is executed, detection signal 15 of the original size is inputted to a control part 13. One of resistance wires 10-12 of a linear halogen lamp 9 which should be lit is selected by the control part 13, and the signal is inputted to a driving part, and the selected resistance wire is lit. Wires 10-12 are selected in accordance with original sizes A4, B4, and A3. The lamp 9 is moved to irradiate only the original 7 from a lower side from a point A (exposure start) to a point B (terminal part of the original) in accordance with the original size and is lit for a certain time from exposure start corresponding to the original size and is extinguished immediately after irradiation of the original 7 is terminated. |
