PURPOSE:To surely catch the steam in exhaust gas by a structure wherein the mist separator installed on a smoke stack, which is connected to a wet type exhaust gas desulfurization plant, consists of a tubular body, over the inside surface of which a mist catcher is provided and as well as within which a guide plate is arranged. CONSTITUTION:The mist separator 6 consists of a net-like mist catcher 11 affixedly provided over the inside surface of the tubular body 10 equipped with openings 8 and 9 at its upper and lower ends and the spiral guide plate 12 longitudinally arranged within the tubular body 10. In addition, gutters 13 are arranged at both the edges of the guide plate 12 in order to receive drain and furthermore drainage grooves 14 are formed on the plate surface of the guide plate 12 pointing at the gutters 13. The tubular body 10 is seated on the upper part of the smoke stack connected to the wet type exhaust gas desulfurization plant. In such a structure as described above, the moisture bearing exhaust gas, which has been desulfirized, is blown upward within the smoke stack so as to cause the exhaust gas to generate the swirling stream along the guide plate 12 and consequently to collide against the mist catcher 11 in order to remove soot, dust and the like from the exhaust gas and as well as to fall the moisture on the inner wall surface of the smoke stack for cleansing. |
