PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer material excellent in transfer property, generating no deformation of a character and having scratch resistance of printing, by successively laminating a releasable resin layer and a thermal transfer ink layer to a base material. CONSTITUTION:As a base material 1, a known film or paper can be used as it is and a releasable resin layer 2 is the one comprising a resin lowering the bonding strength of an ink layer 3 and a support 4 and pref. formed by using a silicone resin or fluorocarbon resin. The thickness of the releasable resin layer 2 is pref. 1mum or less. If said thickness exceeds 1mum, in due regard to a thermal head as a heat source, it is not pref. because heat loss increases. The thermal transfer ink layer 3 consists of a melting resistant binder and a colorant and contains a dispersant, a plasticizer and a filler etc. if necessary. The thickness of the ink layer 3 is pref. 2-30mum and further pref. 3-15mum. |
