PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a recording medium by shunting a head from the recording medium by means of a prescribed shunting means when a recording/reproducing device is not used and avoiding contact between the head and the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical part 7a of a magnetic head carrier 7 is supported rotatably and slidably by a guide shaft 10, and an arm part 7b is in contact with a guide shaft 11 via an offset spring 20. A coupling pin 9 of the part 7a is coupled to a screw 12 which is driven by a step motor 14, and a sloping member 19 is provided at the most outer side of a recording area. A head shunting signal is delivered whrn the reproduction is over. Thus the motor 14 is reversed to shift the part 7b to the most outer side of a disk 1 and then to move the part 7b to the lower side along the sloping surface of the member 19. Therefore a head 4 can be shunted from the disk 1. This prevents the deformation and distortion of the disk 1 due to long-time contact. |
