<p>PURPOSE:To detect quickly and accurately tape sag by setting two tape guides containing reflective photosensors in opposition to each other at the outside of the driving path of a magnetic tape and detecting the tape having the sag along the tape guide. CONSTITUTION:Guide members 41 and 42 are set oppositely to each other as shown in the figure at the outside of the driving path of a magnetic tape 1. Therefore, the tape 1 is set along the members 41 and 42 in case the tape 1 has the sag as shown by a broken line at the exit side of a capstan 18 and a pinch roller 19 and outside the tape driving path. This tape sag is immediately detected by the reflective photosensors 43 and 44 which are provided to the members 41 and 42 respectively. Thus the drive of the tape 1 is stopped immediately and hereafter the tape 1 is rewound for a few seconds to get rid of the sag. In such a way, even a small amount of the tape sag can be eliminated quickly. This device prevents the damage of the tape 1 and the recording/reproducing device.</p> |
