发明名称 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT USING PLASTIC BASE PLATES
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display device reliable in adhesion, durable against storage in high temps. and high humidities, and tough against vibration, etc. by rendering the thickness of an adhesive layer larger than the gap of the display parts between base plates. CONSTITUTION:Plastic base plates 1, 1' are provided each with a transparent conductive film and an opposite processing layer on the inside, and they have a gap (d) of 10mu in a display part, and they are sealed on the circumference with an epoxy adhesive layer 2, and the inside is filled with liquid crystals 4. The plates 1, 1' are bent in advance so as to gradually enlarge in the distance between them as they come to the circumference, and the outside thus widened has a thickness D of, e.g. >=25mum larger than (d). In the case of using an epoxy resin and being a >=25mum thickness, the peeling strength attains >=200g/cm, durable enough against stresses exerted during both of manufacture and use. Polyethylene terephthalate is best but various other materials may be used for the plates 1, 1'.
