PURPOSE:To realize a compact and practical positioning device which has solved the problems of friction and life by varying the amplitude of the exciting current of a linear pulse motor according to the output of a gap sensor. CONSTITUTION:A stator 1 and a mover 2 constitute a three-phase linear pulse motor, so when a current is applied to exciting coils 221-223 successively, a leftward and a rightward driving force are generated. At this time, a strong attractive force operates between the mover 2 and stator 1, so this is utilized as a magnetic attractive floating-up force. The gap sensor 24 fixed to the mover 2 detects the gap between the mover 2 and stator 1 and the amplitude of the exciting current is controlled according to the sensor output, thereby holding the gap (g) invariably constant. Consequently, the mover 2 moves to left and right through normal positioning operation while floating with a constant gap to the stator 1. |
