PURPOSE:To obtain a connection to the entire object scene covering over plural divided viewfields by applying a connecting process of a binary pattern to a detected viewfield and at the same time executing a connecting process of a pattern on the boundary between divided detected viewfields. CONSTITUTION:A binary signal 9 of an object scene obtained from an image pickup device via a binary coding circuit is supplied to Xs and Xe detecting circuits 12 and 13 together with the X coordinate signal which is obtained from an X coordinate generating circuit 11 by an X direction scan clock 10. Thus both start and end points Xs and Xe of a pattern are detected and these coordinate values are preserved in Xs and Xe registers 14 and 15, respectively. Then a pattern connection deciding circuit 18 collates the Xs and Xe of the present pattern with those of the preceding pattern to identify connection states of five types (a-e) and gives the processing commands to circuits 19-22 and 23-28 corresponding to said connection states. When a series of processes up to (e) are through, a pattern parameter output circuit 29 has the same connection numbers in the connection numbers 26 and also looks for a pattern having value ''0'' through a register 28. If this pattern exists, a processing request is given to the rear stage part. |
