REMOTE MAINTENANCE SYSTEM FOR DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To ensure a stable, accurate and economical indication for start of the remote maintenance by detecting a remote maintenance start indication signal of a circuit through a service processor and confirming the side where the remote maintenance indication is delivered. CONSTITUTION:A telephone call is given to an optional system which is going to start the remote maintenance from a remote maintenance center 9 via an exchange station. Thus a call signal is sent to a service processor SVP4. An SVP processing part 5 detects the call signal and connects circuits to fix a data link. The part 5 receives a password from the center 9 and compares it with the value of a password register 6. Then the part 5 executes the remote maintenance by subsequent indications given from the center 9 if coincidence is obtained from said comparison. In case no coincidence is obtained or the center 9 has no reply, the remote maintenance is not carried out. Then the circuit is immediately cut off.
