PURPOSE:To reduce a rocker arm in weight by shortening the same, by so constituting that the recessed part of a closing side cam becomes close to an axis of one side valve at the time when the base circle part of an opening side cam is abutted against an opening side rocker arm. CONSTITUTION:The titled mechanism possesses two suction valves 10 per cylinder, an opening side cam 3 is arranged on about the center of both the valves and a closing side cam 4 is arranged sideward in an offset state. A closing side rocker arm 7 is closed and arranged on the opposite side of the valve to the cam 4 so that the recessed part of the closing cam 4 becomes most close to thei axis of one side valve when the base circle part of an opening side cam 3 is abutted against the slipper 6d of an opening side rocker arm 6. A tool T for adjusting the position of a retainer 9 in the closing state of the valve can be abutted against the upper part of a valve stem easily without making interference of the same with the closing side cam 4. In addition to the above, the titled mechanism can be reduced in weight by shortening the opening side rocker arm 6. |
