The back of an open fireplace is of double walled construction, forming a channel acting as an auxiliary combustion chamber. Behind this is a parallel vertical channel, connecting a chamber under the grate and containing a fan, with the interior of the chimney. Part of the flames and heat from the burning fuel is drawn downwards and then upwards into the auxiliary chamber. - A catalytic system is combined with this chamber using a ceramic or metal coating on a grid supporting the fuel. The walls of this chamber are made of mica or aluminium silicate fibre material. A control flap is also located at the top of the chamber. ADVANTAGE - Harmful products of combustion are reduced.(0/2) |
