PURPOSE:To obtain a humidity detecting element hard to be affected by a disturbing element, by installing two and more electrodes on a changing substance based on a principle that a H-ion convertor in which water content changes inversely by humidity performs ion transmission by an H<+> generated by a water molecule being maintained. CONSTITUTION:A humidity detecting element provided with at least a pair of electrodes 1, 1' employing as a sensitive substance an inorganic H-ion exchanger in which the water content changes inversely by humidity or a organic H-ion exchanger 2 of strong acidity and porosity. In case of the inorganic convertor containing crystal water, high sensitivity to humidity is available in the neighborhood of crystal water separating temperature. For the electrodes 1, 1', acid- resistant stainless steels, ruthenium oxide, etc. are preferable. An electric source 3 to be used is of AC in the sketch and an ammeter 4 is of resistance detecting type, however, general impedance measurement type, bridge type may be used for resistance detection. Thus, a humidity detecting element hard to be affected by such disturbing substances as CO2 and alcohol, etc. becomes available. |
