PURPOSE:To prevent efflorescence of CaC2 by addition of a small amount of an additive, by coating the surface of CaC2 with a treatment consisting of a petroleum oil and a nonionic surface active agent. CONSTITUTION:The surface of CaC2 is coated with 1-2wt% treatment consisting of 90-99wt% petroleum oil and 10-1wt% nonionic surface active agent based on CaC2. CaC2 on the market can be used, CaC2 has quality of 70-85% purity, it has 25-5mm. particle size, and it is needed not to have effloresced. Relatively high-boiling heavy oil, kerosine, mechanical oil, etc. are preferable as the petroleum oil with respect to handling. Since the nonionic surface active agent has strong resistance to an alkali, the blend obtained by adding it to the petroleum oil will not reduce physical properties of CaC2 at all by adding the blend to CaC2, so the nonionic surface active agent is preferable. |
