PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a rocker arm by thinning the width of the pressing part of the rocker arm, by a method wherein an upper protrusions are provided on a right and left cotters fixing a retainer and inserting the rocker arm between the protrusions. CONSTITUTION:A retainer 4 is held on the end part of the stem of a beveled valve 1 by a right and left cotters 6. A protrusion 8 is formed above the cotter 6 and the pressing part 10 of a rocker arm 9 is arranged in a recessed part to be formed between the protrusions 8. The pressing part side of the rocker arm can be made thin, the rocker arm can be made light in weight and inertia force resulting from movement can be made small as compared with an article to be obtained by forming the pressing part of the rocker arm in an inverted recessed state. |
