PURPOSE:To improve wear resistance and castability as far as possible by casting a porous surface-reinforcing layer consisting of a ceramic fiber material into a base material and casting integrally the two materials. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic fiber material having high wear resistance is preliminarily heated to form a porous reinforced surface layer 9. The layer 9 is molded to a cylindrical ring shape and the top and bottom ends thereof are adequately projected toward the inside in the diametral direction of the ring to form an engaging piece 11. Such layer 9 is set in the prescribed position in a casting mold and a molten metal consisting of an FC material is poured into the mold to line with a base material to the ouside circumferential part 13 of the layer 9 thereby casting integrally the two materials. The top end and inside wall surface of the casting are finished by machining by a prescribed thickness and a cylinder body 10 is completed. |
