Arrangement for cutting windings in stators for electrical machines using a hydraulic piston cylinder unit 1 which can be rotated in a horizontal plane for radial displacement of a cutting tool which is designed in the form of a steel cutter 2. The holder 3 comprises three holding arms 4, 5 that are arranged in the form of a star, which are mounted on a central bearing (hub) 8 for the piston cylinder unit 1, at least one holding arm having a hydraulic clamping device 5. Using the arrangement according to the invention, it is possible to cut off old stator windings in a simple and safe way. For adapting to different stator diameters, a spacer element is arranged between the holder 3 and the piston cylinder unit 1 and/or between the piston cylinder unit and the cutting tool 2.
