1496856 Bleaching composition KAO SOAP CO Ltd 5 Aug 1976 [4 Sept 1975] 32674/76 Heading D1P Pentaerythritol tetraacetate activates a watersoluble inorganic per compound in a bleaching composition which may further contain anionic and/or nonionic surfactants and inorganic builder salts. The tetraacetate may be granulated with a mixture of corn starch carboxymethyl cellulose and polyethylene glycol 6000, or admixed with powdery silica, for addition to a powdery composition. The preferred percompounds are sodium perborate, sodium percarbonate, sodium peroxytripolyphosphate, sodium peroxysilicate, sodium peroxypyrophosphate and 4Na 2 SO 4 .2H 2 O 2 . NaCl. Preferred anionic surfactants are sodium alkyl sulphates (10-20C) e.g. sodium dodecyl sulphate, sodium alkylbenzene sulphonates, sodium polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulphates and sodium polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl ether sulphates. Preferred nonionics are polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers and polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl ethers. The pentaerythritol tetraacetate may be a mixed reaction product of pentaerythritol with acetic acid. Cotton broadcloth may be treated. |
