<p>The inspection method described concerns the discovery of short circuits in printed circuit boards and other electronic sub-assemblies. An audio frequency alternating current is applied and the path of this signal is followed throug the circuitry. In order to achieve this, induction coils (10, 11) are moved along the tracks of interest and the induced signal is applied to an audio or visual indicator (14). The arrangement of coils involves axially separated windings (10, 11) connected in opposition. The axis of the coils is pointed towards the track during inspection.</p> |
