Desulphurising hydrocarbon feeds - by contact with hydrogen and liq hydrogen fluoride

Hydrocarbon feeds are desulphurised by (a) contacting the feed with H2 and HF, at least part of the HF being in the liq. phase, and (b) separating the hydrocarbons from the HF. The process gives practically quantitative removal of organic S cpds.
