<p>PURPOSE:To prolong the service life of each of engine part as well as to aim at improvements in drivability and fuel consumption, by feeding an engine with optimum supercharged pressure according to car parameter. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 40 generates such an electric current as large as feedable of supercharged pressure dependent upon car parameter, namely load (a knock sensor 44) and car speed (an engine speed Ne). In conformity with this current, a pressure control valve 30 feeds a positive pressure chamber 21 of an actuator 20 with the specified good-sized positive pressure, opening or closing a valve 18. On the other hand, when suction pressure is led into a second pressure chamber 22 of the actuator 20 as a car is decelerated, the valve 18 opens and engine exhaust gases flow in a bypass passage 17 so that the supercharged pressure drops to where it should be.</p> |
