PURPOSE:To improve the directivity of a floating type fender to advantage by using the fender consisting of a columner core formed by bonding and laminating closed cellular elastic expanded flat plates and a rubber outer skin covering the whole area of the fender for protecting from contact of side-board. CONSTITUTION:A floating fender for protecting from contact of side-board is made up of a columnar core 2 formed by bonding and laminating closed cellular elastic expanded flat plates 1 and an outer rubber skin 6 covering the whole area of the fender. Each elastic expanded flat plate 1 used in the columnar core 2 has plural radial bonding faces 5 and diametrical bonding faces 5, and they are arranged in a dispersed manner around the axis of the columnar core 2, in every several numbers, each of which exhibits non-directivity with respect to compressive deformation resistance for the whole of the columnar core 2. The size of the fender having excellent fending performance can thus be enlarged. |
