PURPOSE:To aim at a rise in scavenging air temperature in time of low load as well as to make fuel of inferior quality usable, by connecting an air cooler to a cylinder jacket inseries, which constolling the amount of flow leading to the air cooler upon by-passing a cooling water cooler on the basis of temperature in the downstream side of the jacket. CONSTITUTION:An air cooler 21 and a cylinder jacket 22 are connected in series with each other, and at a cooling water outlet of the cylinder jacket, there is provided with a temperature sensor 24. At a cooling water circulating passage, which connects the cooling water outlet to a cooling water inlet for a cooling water cooler 26, a pump 27 and the air cooler 21, there is provided with a cooling water cooler's bypass water passage 31, and likewise a cooling water temperature regulating valve 25 is installed in a branching part of the said circulating passage. This temperature regulating valve 25 is controlled on the basis of a detection value of the temperature sensor, and when the detection value of the temperature sensor in time of low load goes down, the amount of flow into the bypass water passage 31 is made to increase to some extent, thus making the scavenging temperature go up. As a result, it becomes possible to use fuel of inferior quality. |
