<p>PURPOSE:To improve the sheet arranging effect by controlling the frequency and speed of reciprocating side fences according to a main factor having an effect upon the facility of arranging sheets. CONSTITUTION:A sheet arranging device 15 includes a pair of side fences 16, 17 disposed on both sides of a copy sheet 8 carried in a tray, wherein the base portions 16a, 17a thereof are fitted to notches 18 formed on the tray, and both fences are brought close to and separated from each other symmetrically to the central reference line G between both fences 16, 17 by an operating device. At least one of frequency, speed and stroke of such operation can be controlled according to the property of a copy sheet and an external main factor such as humidity, temperature, etc., so that loss of time required for arranging operation is held down without lowering of sheet arranging effect.</p> |
