PURPOSE:To let an engine brake work in an effective manner, by setting up a bypass passage which interconnects the upstream side of a compressor to the downstream side of a suction throttle valve through, while installing a differential pressure responsive type on-off valve in this passage. CONSTITUTION:At the downstream side of a compressor 14 of an exhaust turbosupercharger 13, there is provided with a suction passage 16 carrying a suction throttle valve 15. Likewise, a bypass passage 21 interconnecting the compressor upstream side 16A to the suction throttle valve downstream side 16C through is installed as well. Additionally a differential pressure responsive type on-off valve 22, which opens at a time when cross differential pressure goes up beyond the specified value, is installed in this bypass passage 21. Thus, an engine brake is able to work effectively and, what is more, drivability is improved. |
