PURPOSE:To prevent flaws and double-folding, etc. of a folded material from occurring by holding both ends of the second press roll provided opposite to the first press roll with rotatable support arms energizing it to the first press roll side and driving the first and second press rolls. CONSTITUTION:The first and second press rolls 1, 4 are faced and arranged across the transport path of the folded paper, the second roll 4 is rotatably held by support arms 8, 8, and the gap between the rolls 1, 4 is adjusted in response to the thickness of the folded paper 2. When the drive shaft 13a of a drive source 13 is rotated, the first roll 1 is rotated clockwise and the second roll 4 is rotated counter-clockwise at the same peripheral speed, the folded paper 2 transported is smoothly bitten into the gap between the first and second rolls 1, 4, the folded paper 2 is shaped with no bulge at the folded portion and is smoothly discharged to the stacker side, thereby the binding work is performed quickly and reliably and the folded paper is stacked in good order. |
