PURPOSE:To prevent important data from disappearing by discriminating whether a printer is connected or not from the state of a control signal input terminal after print data is outputted, and deciding on subsequent control. CONSTITUTION:When a push-button input of a stopwatch appears at an input circuit 21, a control circuit 22 starts and stops the operation of a counting circuit 24 and also transfers the data of the counting circuit 24, so that the data is outputted to a display device 26 through a display circuit 25. Further, the data is outputted to a print data output line 28. The control input line does not change at all unless a printer 27 is connected, but a control signal line becomes active simultaneously with the start of printing when the printer 27 is connected. Consequently, it is discriminated that the printer 27 is connected and a decision on subsequent control is made. |
